A dream becomes reality…
When we got the call that we were selected to be a part of the Pre-Emmy Award DPA gifting suite, we couldn’t help feeling like little girls whose big dreams were coming true!
Sure, our founder is a Silicon Valley engineer with a start-up or two under her belt and we’ve had our share of experiences in New York and Los Angeles, but THIS. We were dazzled. After all, Hollywood had come calling.
“Wow, this is it!” we repeated, looking at each other in disbelief.
We imagined packing up our beloved Longeva products that we had worked so hard to develop, looking back at Silicon Valley and heading to the land of hopes and dreams coming true.
Would glamour be oozing from the streets of Beverly Hills? Would Hollywood appreciate our story? Will anyone even pay attention to our earnest advances? We were so new and had such a loyal following back home, but would the jaded Hollywood elite simply reject us like a bad audition for a Spielberg movie?
You might even wonder, why would Longeva, a start-up looking to change the attitude of skincare, go to the Pre-Emmys events?
Longeva is looking to simplify beauty routines with honesty and purity, restore faith in tried and true traditions of skincare, and purify health from the inside out. Our founder, Tara, fought perhaps the greatest battle one could face, why would we look to Hollywood? Well the question should be, why wouldn’t we? For the event, we partnered with Serenite Foundation, which helps families dealing with pediatric cancer. We spread the word about Lynn Sage Foundation for breast cancer, and our commitment to donating a portion of proceeds when we launched. Speaking with some of the greatest influencers of our time, we realized we had made the right choice.
So back to the glitz and glamour. Much to our surprise, we captured the hearts of Hollywood, much like they have captured ours.
From the moment we started sharing our passion for pure and simple beauty products and our mission to make a difference, the hugs and embraces came, the tears flowed and the hearts opened.
Hollywood isn’t so jaded after all.
Everyone, from the executives of Showtime, creators of Modern Family, writers of Mad Men, cast members of Orange is the New Black, to the creator of the ever-so iconic show Friends, David Crane, listened with open minds and ears.
Men and women of all ages were taken with the Omni Facial Moisturizer and Teeth Brightening Paste!
We felt a wave of unity that we could never have imagined. Angela Bassett hugged Tara tightly to congratulate her on her fight while other celebrities shed tears and shared stories of their own family member’s fight against cancer. In the end, meeting nearly 200 of the Emmy nominees and their families was purely a celebration.
A huge Thank You goes out to the DPA team and Nathalie Dubois, who heads the company who does the most renowned gift lounges for almost every major awards show around the world. You gave us an experience we will never forget while showing us the true heart of Hollywood.
